The project ultimately adopts a restrained and refined approach to construction: an efficient infrastructure space is embedded underground, while the ground level becomes a light and open public landscape. Through this layered spatial structure, the pumping station is no longer merely a technical facility, but an urban environment that can be used and experienced. Within Guangming Science City, a highly concentrated research district, this small-scale infrastructure seeks to engage with the natural landscape and public life in a softer way, allowing municipal architecture to fulfill its technical requirements while also offering an open and shared spatial quality.
