Located several dozen meters away, the Moon Pavilion draws inspiration from traditional Lingnan gardens, comprised of exhibition hall, courtyard, and connecting corridor. The covered walkway wraps around the courtyard, binding the spaces together across two levels. The spatial circulation flows like a Möbius strip, reminiscent of the surreal atmosphere in Escher's “Impossible Staircase.” Along the corridor, framed views are orchestrated through circular moon gates, local stone compositions, and tree plantings, offering visitors shifting perspectives as they move through the space. Built in exposed concrete, the pavilion bears the fine imprints of timber formwork, giving its surfaces a delicate, relief-like texture.
